It’s built from what I’ve observed and learnt as a creative designer working with social and environmental-impact organisations since the last 15+ years, and is part branding reference - part storytelling tool - part reminder that colour does more than just decorate. It shapes how people feel about a cause before they’ve read a single word.

Note: the colour wheel draws from marketing conventions, branding practice, and some psychological research, but colour meanings are context-dependent and culturally shaped. Research shows that colours are linked to emotions in probabilistic and many-to-many ways - and are moderated by saturation, brightness, context and colour combinations.

If you’re a purpose-driven organisation or charity, volunteer group, solopreneur, or produce design and communications (or even strategy) for this space, a colour psychology wheel could be a helpful lens for thinking about how visual and project identities, campaigns and storytelling can use colour to signal values, build trust, and shape perception before a word is read.

This is a series of live 1-hour tutorials for purpose-led practitioners and creatives who want to build a professional identity that they can be proud of and that evolves with them.

What Does Your Industry Look Like?

A hands-on session to understand your creative landscape and carve out your own space.

In our second session, led by myself, we'll build a visual competitor analysis.

This is a digital collage of found imagery that helps you identify what colours, fonts, imagery and visual style your industry or niche is using. Very handy for seeing - using real-world 'data' - what your audience expects, what is a trend, what is being overused or missed out, and where there might be an opportunity to stand out.

We'll also take a look at colour and typography psychology and how you could apply this theory to your brand.

This is a practical, hands-on session so please come with a laptop / computer, smartphone (optional), a notebook & pen, and software which allows you to import / paste images into a document - such as Microsoft Word, or even Google Slides, PowerPoint, Figma or Miro.
